About the Author
John Storey is a professor of cultural studies and director of the Centre for Research in Media and Cultural Studies, University of Sunderland, England. His works include a companion volume to Cultural Theory and Popular Culture: An Introduction, which is titled Cultural Theory and Popular Culture: A Reader (Georgia), and Cultural Studies and the Study of Popular Culture (Georgia).

Interesting!

I haven't read anything prior to this on the whole subject of popular culture and was surprised to learn that it is a pretty complex topic once you get into it. I find it easy to understand, although of the 6 different definitions of popular culture, at least 2 of them seem very similar to others on the list. The author is good at getting to the point and offering good examples of the theories that he is explaining. The examples helped me a lot to better understand these sometimes difficult concepts.
