Ana María Matute, Carmen Martín Gaite y Elena Quiroga cuentan entre las escritoras más representativas de este fenómeno. En este trabajo la contribución de estas mujeres al mundo español de las letras se ha evaluado y analizado utilizando una selección de sus novelas. El análisis de este corpus narrativo se ha enriquecido aplicando teorías literarias desarrolladas por intelectuales de importancia en los Estados Unidos.

El autor: María del Carmen Riddel es profesora de Lenguas Modernas en Marshall University en Huntington, Virginia Occidental. Recibió el doctorado en literatura española contemporánea en the Ohio State University. Además de numerosas presentaciones en congresos profesionales, ha publicado artículos sobre varios aspectos de la producción literaria de mujeres españolas.
